"My husband Michael first introduced me to LASIK surgery. I did some research on the procedure and decided to get a consultation to see if I was even a candidate.

When I went to Dr. Knauf¹s office at Eye Site, I was amazed at all the tests the staff does on your eyes to make sure you are able to proceed. After the tests were administered, Dr. Knauf examined me. I felt very comfortable with him. He answered my plethora of questions and said I was a perfect candidate for the procedure.

The day of my surgery, I was a little nervous. After all, you only get two eyes in your lifetime and the last thing you want to do is injure them in any way. Dr. Knauf came in and told me about the procedure. It seemed simple enough, and it was. The whole operation was about ten minutes and I could already see better immediately after.

Later that evening, I was seeing 20/15. I cannot tell you what a blessing it is to be able to see so perfectly without glasses. We have a seven-month old daughter, and when she wakes in the night it is so great not to have to find my glasses. I can go to the beach and not worry about the sand in my eyes. I can even open my eyes under water, something I have never been able to do. I can drive better and read signs further away. When I travel, I do not have to lug around three different bottles of solution and an extra pair of contacts. The list goes on and on.

For me, LASIK surgery was well worth the painless, ten minute surgery to permanently correct my vision. "
